Tribute to Martin Fieldhouse, 1936 - 2026

I worked for Martin from 1974 till 1982 when I left for the USA.  Despite having Bachelors and Masters degrees with a strong computing background, I probably learned more from Martin than anyone else before or since. He taught me levels of understanding of computer programming that I hadn’t even consider previously.  He had a brilliant mind, a good sense of humor and considerable patience with those less able than himself which included me and most of the rest of the world.

It was a privilege to work with Martin and I will always remember the time I spent with him with considerable gratitude, affection and respect.
